The new warehouse will help us to even better respond to the needs of our clients and to provide a more comfortable work experience in a larger setting. Proximity to Sosnowiec, Katowice and the S1 expressway is a major strength of our new location. In the new facility we will open a cross-dock warehouse with eight loading docks for trucks, which will significantly improve servicing trucks leaving daily for Romania, Spain, France, Portugal and the Benelux countries. The new warehouse of MAINFREIGHT also features green energy-saving solutions and has been built to meet the requirements of BREEAM Very Good certification, says Rafał Maciaszek, Branch Manager, MAINFREIGHT Europe.
As a global logistics provider, MAINFREIGHT offers warehousing, sea and air freight, and domestic as well as international road transport. It has branches across Asia, Australia, Europe, New Zealand and the Americas, and continues to expand its global reach; due to its broad scale of operations, it also needs warehouse space meeting specific technical requirements. That is why MAINFREIGHT decided to lease a warehouse with an area of close to 2,230 sq m and an almost 305 sq m office in Sosnowiec for its third branch in Poland.
The client came to us with non-standard technical specification requirements. MAINFREIGHT was looking for a shallow facility with many loading docks. It also expected office space to meet set requirements, including a large open plan office for all its employees and welfare facilities. Good access of daylight in the premises was also important. We are confident that the warehouse in Panattoni Park Sosnowiec III will meet all the requirements of our client, comments Katarzyna Kocel, Negotiator, Industrial & Logistics Agency, Cushman & Wakefield.
Panattoni Park Sosnowiec III has a combined area of 80,000 sq m. Benefiting from its prime location, it enjoys easy access to the Silesian Conurbation with a population of 4.5 million and other cities in southern Poland, including Krakow. It is located close to the S1 expressway, near the A4 motorway and the Katowice Economic Zone.
Warehouses in Silesia
We have already delivered around 2.5 million sq m of industrial space in Silesia – more than in any other region in Poland. This area has a huge potential whilst transforming from a mining hub into a driving force for such sectors as automotive and manufacturing or – as in the case of MAINFREIGHT Europe – logistics. By delivering state-of-the-art facilities in the region we build modern business platforms; in addition, companies are also increasingly relocating their headquarters to Silesia, which is testament to the outstanding quality of the office space we provide within our parks. Silesia still has many years of growth ahead and we want to be part of its growth story, concludes Justyna Kononowicz, Senior Leasing Manager, Panattoni.
