Packeta Group shareholders have sold 100% of the company to a consortium comprising CVC Capital Partners and Emma Capital (with equity support from R2G). The transaction is currently in the process of being approved by the relevant regulatory authorities and is expected to be finalised in the first half of 2024. Details of the terms of the transaction have not been announced.

Czech e-commerce platform with global reach

Packeta is a global digital e-commerce platform specialising in end-to-end logistics services. The company was founded in the Czech Republic in 2010 by Simona Kijonkova as Zásilkovna. Over the course of a decade, Packeta evolved into a holding company called Packeta Group, comprising 14 different entities. Today, Packeta operates in seven countries, delivering to 33 countries. It has a network of more than 15,100 of its own collection points, covering almost 6,000 Z-BOXes.

Successful transaction process

In spring 2023, the transaction process began, which was led by financial advisors CORPIN (representing JSK Investments) and IMAP REDBAENK (representing the other shareholders). In terms of legal aspects, HAVEL & PARTNERS was responsible for the representation of JSK Investments and HLADKY.LEGAL and Axialis Legal represented the other shareholders. In addition, Vendor Due Diligence services were provided by CMS Cameron McKenna Nabaro Olswang, Ernst & Young and Boston Consulting Group teams.

For most of 2023, a suitable investor for Packet Group was actively sought. The process generated a significant number of proposals from a diverse range of financial and strategic investors, also attracting considerable interest from prominent international groups.

- First of all, I would like to express my gratitude to more than 2,000 colleagues for their contribution to the development of Packeta, which is now one of Europe's leading parcel delivery platforms in the e-commerce industry. Without their efforts and skills, Packeta would not be where it is today. I am also grateful to our customers - the online shops who have entrusted us with their parcels. Together, over the past decade, we have contributed to the significant development of the modern e-commerce industry in Central Europe. I believe that the new investors, who have demonstrated their knowledge and experience in the last mile delivery sector, will help Packeta Group to grow even further and improve the level of service provided to customers, as well as the job satisfaction of our employees. I would also like to thank the advisors and management team for their help and support during this very demanding, international and multi-tasking project. Finally, I would like to thank all the shareholders who have helped me manage the company over the years and supported me, especially during the last difficult years. - commented Simona Kijonková, founder of Zásilková, CEO of Packeta and representative of JSK Investments, the largest shareholder of the Packeta Group.
